China has never screened the six movies in the Star Wars saga before, although the most populated country on the planet has seen some of the movies in theaters before. Nevertheless, the very first ever official screening of all six movies will take place later this year in Shanghai.
The Shanghai International Film Festival will be screening the six movies in their respective order: The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. China residents, who are fans of the Star Wars Saga will be able to attend the screenings in July this year. According to official reports, the producers of the 7th movie want to raise more fuss among the public before the movie hits theaters worldwide. Or in other words, it’s all a publicity stunt, which might actually end up well both for the fans and for the people standing behind the production.
The 7th movie in the sci-fi installment, entitled Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, is directed by the notorious J. J. Abrams. The story is set nearly three decades after the events from Return of the Jedi. Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and some other actors will be reprising their iconic roles in the upcoming movie. It was filmed on a $200 million budget in 2014 in various destinations across Ireland, UK and Abu Dhabi. Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens is set to hit theaters in late December 2015.
