The professional wrestler, currently mostly actor, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson allegedly died after a climbing accident in New Zealand on May 4, 2011. Considering his aggressive style, the entertainer did not respond to the prank very kindly. He tweeted the following message the same day:
The famous actor Morgan Freeman has been a regular target of death Internet hoaxes since late 2010. Then a strange re-tweet from a fictional CNN story proclaimed the actor dead after an alleged accident in his Burbank home. After a couple of years of fake rumors the Internet pranksters reached new heights when they launched a Facebook page with the title “RIP Morgan Freeman”. Eventually, the actor responded by posting the following words and a selfie of himself:
